I believe that each of us has a purpose to fulfill in our lifetime. I prayed for many years for God to tell me my purpose. In 2002, Zohreh Emami, my instructor at the time asked the question, “What are you going to do to help other women?” I had no answer then. That simple question weighed on my heart in ways Ms. Emami could never know.

One day, without any thought, I began writing a business plan to open a social service organization named Wounded Wings. I knew this was God answering my prayer and Ms. Emami’s question.

When women fail to reach their goals, it is because their support systems have failed them. Women need opportunities and resources that are designed to support their success. We must see ourselves as stakeholders in the accomplishments of women . Wounded Wings helps women better their lives by bettering the lives of other of women.
